Who Is Mikko?

My name is Kemppe, Mikko Kemppe. :)

When I was young, I always loved watching James Bond movies with my father, so I guess that is where I got my passion for exciting adventures utilizing technology, hint of humor, and a good style ultimately with the purpose of saving the world :) .

I was born and pretty much raised in Oulu, Finland. Oulu is a beautiful and technologically advanced city located close to the Gulf of Bothnia near the Swedish border in Northern Europe (pretty far up North actually, very close to the Arctic Circle.)

At the age of 19, after receiving a scholarship my first big adventure was to move to the United States to play Division One basketball in University of Louisiana at Monroe. Talking about a change. I went from a somewhat freezing technologically savvy city to a same size, but a little less technologically savvy sweltering hot and humid one :) . But that’s another story altogether.

After finishing my college basketball career, I became a passionate salsa dancer. After all, I guess I thought that if I wanted to be like Mr. Bond, I had to surround myself with good-looking women, so starting salsa dancing seemed like a good way to go about it :) .

So for a while I became to be like the secret agent of the salsa world as I alone and anonymously started traveling to different salsa events (or not so secretly, since my white 6’0” body is kind of easy to spot on the salsa dance floor).

By that time I had also been reading a lot about love, healing, spirituality, health, nutrition, and relationships. In fact, few years ago I actually became the first ever Finnish Mars Venus Relationship coach. To find out more about how I plan to heal and save the world through promoting love, healing, and peace, check out my relationship and dating blog (my health and nutrition blog s coming soon).

But of course something was still missing.

And that is part of the reason why I created my Urban Mobile Lifestyle (UML) project. Again like Mr. Bond, I wanted to learn to enjoy all of the technological advancements that we have in our fingertips today. When I started this project, I hardly knew that much about the latest internet technologies like blogs, social media, or Internet marketing (I am getting better, but I still have a long way to go).

By the way, if you have knowledge or skill that you think I would benefit from in regards to all of my blogs and endeavors, please feel free to send me a message, share your ideas, or advertise your products or services. I would appreciate it.

My initial project was simply to find out whether you can comfortably, economically, fashionably, minimalistically, and sustainably live in a mobile home or RV in cities or other urban areas.

I started my mobile adventure on April 30th, 2009 and so far it has gone well. Although, I have not gotten my mobile home to turn into a submarine yet like James (I am working on it), I have really come to enjoy my urban mobile lifestyle and the freedoms and challenges that come with it.

And with this blog, I am finally planning to start sharing about some of my experiences with you ultimately with a goal to raise the public perception and further the rights of those who responsibly live in their trailers, mobile homes, and RV’s in cities and urban areas and to promote UML as an economical, sustainable, green, fashionable, and responsible alternative for living.

I would love for you to join my cause.

But enough about me. What about you?

If you have read this far, I would definitely like to meet and hear about you as well.

How did you find this site and now that you heard some of mine, what kind of goals and dreams do you have?

The best way to connect with me at this point is probably just to connect with me on facebook or just send me an email.

And, of course, I would love for you to come back and comment on some of my posts too, of course. And hopefully you will come to like them enough for you to subscribe to my e-mail list or my rss feed.
